(LCA) Career Exploration ONLINE Summit Salutes Veterans with Disabilities who are aspiring storytellers, filmmakers and media professionals on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 12 noon – 3 pm PT on Zoom. Hosted by San Diego State University’s Interwork Institute and sponsored by Comcast NBCUniversal.
Meet media executives and filmmakers from AT&T (parent company of WarnerMedia), Comcast NBCUniversal, GI Film Festival, Never Forgotten Media and other partners like the California Department of Rehabilitation, San Diego State University, National Disability Mentoring Coalition and PolicyWorks for a three-hour virtual Summit that includes informational panels like HOW TO MAKE IT IN THE MEDIA and DISABLED VETERAN NARRATIVE IMPERATIVE to insure authentic storytelling, and spotlight mentors.
If you are a Veteran with a disability, check it out – Join forces with other like-minded and creative Veterans with disabilities who are also interested in pursuing media careers in TV, film, documentaries, advertising, news, theatre and interactive, including video games.
LCA is a dynamic national initiative that includes career exploration summits, online peer mentoring circles, access to career building resources, networking and self-disclosure workshops to help you sharpen your competitive edge, and spotlight mentors to provide career-building insights so you can navigate a career in media.
LCA Salutes Veterans with Disabilities also includes an LCA Orientation on Tuesday, June 2 at 10 am PT with two workshops: How to Network and Self-ID: How to Leverage Your Disability to Sharpen Your Competitive Edge.
